- Hook (5 min): a curiosity opener
- Direct instruction (10 min): the core concept, taught simply
- Modelling (10 min): the concept demonstrated, thinking aloud
- Guided practice (10 min): students try with support
- Independent practice (15 min): students apply on their own
- Formative check (5 min): exit ticket or quick assessment
- Closing (5 min): summarize, preview next lesson

For each section:
- What the teacher does
- What the students do
- The questions to ask
- The thing that signals it's time to move on
- A backup plan if the section runs long

End with 1 differentiation strategy for struggling learners and 1 for advanced ones.
